John Dunn's fallow buck, South Australia.
Shot at 170 metres with a 7 mm (7 x 57) 130 grain copper HP projectile from Outer Edge Projectiles. Dropped in his tracks.
A frontal, quartering shot that shattered two neck vertebrae, went into the chest cavity where it broke three ribs and lodged. The recovered bullet found at the end of a raking shot expanded to 15 mm and didn't lose a grain in weight.
With thanks to Pete Spurgeon for the photo.
